Bridal hairstylist, educator, and longtime hair-obsessed human.

I’ve loved hair and beauty for as long as I can remember. What started with prom styles in high school and late-night hair experiments in the bathroom — somehow turned into a full-blown career.

I went to beauty school in 2013, and not long after, a few friends asked me to style their hair for their weddings. One bride turned into another… and now I’ve done over 400 weddings (which still feels a little wild to say).

I absolutely love working with brides and getting to be a small but meaningful part of such an important day. My approach to styling is all about creating soft, effortless hair that still feels like you — just a little elevated. Think big waves and blowouts, lived-in updos, and party ponies. I’m a big believer in not chasing trends, but instead helping you feel like the most confident, radiant version of yourself.

In 2015, I taught my first hairstyling class at The Pinterest Conference and that experience sparked a love for education. These days I teach bridal hair workshops and run a few online programs — The Business of Bridal Hair, The Monetized Hair + Makeup Artist, and The Bridal Hair Library — where I help stylists grow their businesses, their social media, and their craft.

The Non-Hair Version of Me-

• I’ve been self-employed since I was 22 — which probably explains a lot about my personality. I’m 32 now btw.

• I ran track and cross country in high school/college, and I still enjoy running for fun. Kinda weird, I know.

• I met my husband when I was 13 and we’ve been married for 12 years now. He’s my favorite.

• We spent nine months in China teaching English and have been chasing travel adventures ever since.

• My house includes three dogs (Walker, Jack, and Bailey), a cat (Muffin), and three chickens (Tangerine, Lemon, and Berry) — it’s a full situation over here.

• I’ve watched Friends an unreasonable number of times. I am Monica.
